Awning hangers

I had a 1" cargo strap that had some badly worn places in it. I cut the good parts into 4" pieces; Folded them over double, and Her Majesty sewed a hem about 3/16" along the folded edge. I bought a grommet kit from Wally World and installed grommets in the double end. I inserted a #8 finish nail in the hem, and it slides into the awning groove. We made a dozen of them. We can now hang anything under the awning, and even put up another tarp to give more shade.
I space them evenly and leave them in the awning when I roll it up.
This saves a bit, when you think about buying a dozen of them.

I did the same thing but used a rubber rod instead of nails. I used it to hang a tarp from for family camping in case of rain.
  • Good reuse idea!

Might want to rethink that nail......they can rust. For $1.50 you can get 1/4" X 3' plastic rod at Graingers
