Money well spent! Years ago we had a mat that was like artificial turf. Washable with hose and always looked good. We thought we were all posh! LOL Next we bought a woven mat. It was plastic. It did not breath well and really made a mess of the grass. One of the worst things was that it shredded easily due to the weave. I was not sad to see it go. The mat is available today and I can't understand why. They are at every show. This year we bought a mat for under the awning of our trailer. The one we bought is excellent. It breathes, allows water through and does not damage grass. It is very plain, no pattern. Sweeps great and folds up nicely. We bought one 8x18 at around $165 Canadian. Totally reduces any sand, dirt, grass etc from the TT. I am trying to remember the name. It was money well spent!

Please tell us all soon. Grass under a poor mat does not live long.

x2 exactly. The plastic weave mats work well for us. I can't understand the comments where they can't be swept or hosed down.

I will have to find out if I can get one of those (Eventually) I have an older mat, Kind of plain, (Some pattern) however I almost never use it less I'm on a sand or gravel site because of what it does to the grass.

My wife used to want me to put it out all the time. Many times I've pointed to the yellow rectangle in the grass (or brown or dead) and said "that is what the mats do". Glad to find one that does not do that.

Well I have had indoor/outdoor carpet cut to fit my whole awning and it works for me if dirty it goes in the back of my truck and gets hosed when I'm home but now that I'm disabled and the SP I camp in has all concrete sites. I down sized to a smaller piece of carpet to keep the dirt out. It's nice when it rains no mud...:B

Sounds like the Prest-o-fit Aero-weave to me. I had the same experiences with other mats falling apart then bought an aero-weave...that was three years ago and it is still as good as new We use it about 5 months a year, so it gets lots of use. Well worth the extra money.

We have the woven plastic mat that the OP had and have had no problems with it. Easy to clean and no problem with shredding. I'm sure there's something better though!

The one we have is exactly like the one you show here. When I enlarged it the weave is the same. We get nothing coming up from underneath the mat. They are great!

For some reason we often end up with sandy camp sites and I have found Cgear sand through mats sand an dirt go right through them. They were originally made as helicopter landing pads preventing damage to the turbines in desert locations. They are available in the US.

We have used different ones. This last time we bought an 8X12 indoor/outdoor carpet from Lowes.Water goes thru it and was cheap. $25.00 for the piece and he said they sell a lot of it.
