Yes, it will help, but is far from fool proof.
Once again let me state backing is a skill one should have, because you can't always go forward.
Also you then have the skill to put your trailer where you want it.
Once you get the hang of it, you then will have the confidence. I was always taught as long as you have 3" on each side, you should be able to fit the trailer.
