Balking Brake Buddy

I set up my Brake Buddy as I always have, and today after installing it...I had to touch the test button several times for the TEST to take place, and when it did....it would not reset itself, unless I unplugged from cigarette liter socket and reinstall-it reset itself then. But once it activated it basically SHUTS DOWN. Any one else have this issue? Guess I need to contact Brake Buddy and check with them. Other than this episode, it has worked great-no issues whatsoever in 9 years.

    First, has your power supply to the BB changed? They need an ample wire size and fuse capacity. I don't think they're happy with most vehicles' power outlets, and BB will provide a kit for power direct from toad's battery.

    Otherwise, call BB. Might be some troubleshooting they could talk you through. If they ask you to send it in, you may/may not end up with it back. Ours was a "Classic" with separate monitor units. One plugged into the BB with cable, the RV was a one-piece unit that plugged into a 12V outlet. They called and said it needed most of its internal components and offered replacement with the newer BB Vantage Select. It's more sophisticated and can be adjusted from the RV, same familiar installation.
