Pulling a fiver from Bangor to Nashville, any route recommendations? Would like to avoide the big city traffic.

If you can marry up with I-81 South either in Pa or Md, then it's a straight shot...I-81 will merge into I-40 West straight into Nashville.
I do it twice a yr from the Chambersburg, Pa area...No big cities to navigate, except around Knoxville, Tn and that's not a problem...you can either take the bypass or stay on 40 W.
