Before you buy something, take out what you have and know what size equipment can fit in the space. I discovered that the under counter plate that everything screws down onto was a smaller size than a lot of "hardware store" replacements. Another trick I learned along the way was to put my digital camera under the sink and take a set of pictures at different angles so you can really see what you have before you tackle the job. I would imagine that the faucet and fittings are installed originally before the sink is put in place. That can make things a lot more interesting.
