We use hotel program credit cards exclusively. They give us points toward stays at hotels when we are not traveling by RV. We have stayed for free in China, Costa Rica, Germany, France, Italy, etc. 90% of the time using these points. Even better the hotel views the points as indicative of our being loyal customers so we get concierge upgrades to a better room, happy hour, etc. wherever we go.
For a $1000 in fuel cost getting back $50 is small change compared to the hotel points we score instead.
