After I bought my travel trailer, the dealer recommended that I take it to a campground for a few days and try it out before I leave on a long trip. I noticed that an RV group was holding a get together about a 2 hour drive from my home.I called them and inquired about the group but never joined or made a reservation at the park. I tend to like my privacy and wanted to use this trip to set up my TV, check out shower and check the Wi-Fi connection for my computer and printer. I also like to read a lot. I had planned to socialize a little in the morning and evening. When I pulled into the RV park, four women immediately came up-to my driver's side window. I got out to go into the office to get a space. There were two more women in the office. One of these women said that I must be the new person and told me where I could park. This person did not work there but was part of the group. She took me outside and showed me two spaces close to the entrance and the office. This RV park had a lot of nice shady spaces in the back and this is where I would have preferred to be. I walked back to the office and asked the clerk at the registration desk if there was a grocery store nearby. She told me there was one just down the street. I told her that I wanted to get some groceries before I checked in and would be right back. I left this really nice RV park and went somewhere else. I could tell that I would have been hounded by these women constantly if I had stayed there. I believe I found out why less than ten people show up for their get togethers. In the short time I was there,I was told that one of them had a dog that most of them didn't like. Another was a man that they told was rude and kept to himself most of the time. I took off out of there as fast as I could. A little advice for park personnel, don't let guests hang around in the office and greet every guest that arrives. I would have preferred to check in and pick where I wanted to park and approach the group if I decided I wanted to get to know these people. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or is this normal for an RV park? I am a newbie but this first time check-in was not to my liking.
