Watched as a guy failed repeatedly to back a small TT into a ridiculously easy spot. I also noticed that the wife was being a real itch to anybody who offered to help,. As I walked toward this mess, she raised her hand like a border guard and told me that they didn't need help. I then explained that I wasn't looking to break up their marital bliss, or help at all, but........."If you stand behind the camper, on the drivers side, WHERE HE CAN SEE YOU, and point where you want the back end to go, and you hold the steering wheel at 6 o'clock and push-pull it in the direction she gives you, you will be perfectly parked on your next attempt". They were, and they thanked me many times, over the next few days.
Lots of us old timers who get all huffy if anybody intrudes on out gig. OTOH, lots of newbees who don't know their adze from their ear, and have way too much 'tude, when they could be learning something valuable. Oddly enough, I have helped many Europeans who were stumbling around, trying to figure out their rental class Cs, and all were polite and grateful.
