Best "shut em down" moment?

Ever get to a campground and a person comes up to you and starts to talk to you and then begins to say something like " oh you arent doing that right, that will mever work etc..." And then you politely do it right in front of them, it does work that way, and they just stop talking and kind of walk away? Now dont get me wrong, if i am doing something the wrong way, i appreciate the help... But sometimes.....

On our last trip. I was connecting the water line, power line etc.. When a guy across the road came over and asked what kind of "scooter" we had on the carrier on the back of the RV...( we always put a cover on the bike when traveling). Anyways... Finally i just took the cover off and said " its my wifes bike, it is a Suzuki Boulevard S40 650CC". It was priceless to see his expression when he saw a nice bike with saddlebags, and lots of chrome. he then proceeded to dig a bit deeper and said " your wife rides??"

Lol.... Pricelss!!! What are your experiences?
  • I had a nice enough old geezer who was on a site behind us come over every morning to show me his stringer of 9" or 10" stocked trout. He was all full of himself thinking he was rubbin me good as I kayak fish for Bass exclusivly, mostly at night, and was getting skunked really good that week. After 3 days of his morning visits I went down to the trout hatchery a few miles away and bought 4 Rainbows which were 20" plus in length. When he came over with his stringer of minnows on the 4th day I think he pooped his pants when I pulled those out of my cooler. He never stopped by again.
  • A friend just looks at them and says in a firm voice "standby" and proceeds to finish what he's doing.

Some people refer to all 2 wheel rides as scooters. He probably didn't mean an actual scooter.

That is true, but by the look of surprise, he was thinking a actual scooter...

So what does that have to do with your original point?

Point is that this person assumed that because of some reason, that we would have a scooter and not a actual motorcycle, much like people that think they know it all etc...etc...etc... Maybe im not explaining it right?
  • So what does that have to do with your original point?
