Maybe $50,000
I will only take CASH & have bought and sold everything from boats, rv's, airplanes, & farm equipment.
I bought a tractor & equipment this summer from a guy that while I was looking it over kept emphizising CASH only. I call him back & said Iwant it and will be there next day to pickup. Again the cash statement. I bring him $22k in a bag, he had a fit cause it wasn't a cashiers cheque . I replied, " you said cash ". I gave my bank a letter with description & serial # of what I was buying to keep the gestapo happy.when I cashed my check. - 2oldmanExplorer IIHeck even a personal check is ok as long as you both wait until it clears.
- moe_fExplorerWent to my bank, buyer counted out the money in front of teller, teller counted the money and deposited into my account.
- ScottGNomadThe best way is a cash transaction at your bank. Let them count it.

Even if done at the buyers bank, a cashiers check is suspect. Buyer goes to teller and gets a $100 cashiers check. Palms it and then comes to you and hands you a phony check for $50K. Wire transfer ONLY!
Except you give them the full payee name for the check at the bank, not before. How are they going to fake a check with the specific name you just gave them walking from the teller to you in the bank?
Just ask them how they want the check made out before you go. A bank check is no more secure than a personal check. - Tom_BarbExplorerOur coach was delivered to our bank, we simply transferred to Money to the sellers using their bank account numbers, the seller had the money almost immediately.
They unhooked their towed, we hooked ours up, we drove the coach home. - ItsyRVExplorer

I always use bank to bank transfers with never a problem. When my banker tells me the funds are in my account you can have the car, period.
I have had a couple of folks try to pass off fake certified checks in the past. - 2oldmanExplorer IIand please don't say you don't want to give someone your bank account number for a wire transfer. That's perinoid.
- midnightsadieExplorer IIit is true theres a bunch of scammers out there , but we the people are perinoid over it, #1 way is wire transfer #2 meet at his bank. #3 a handle full of cash.
