About 5 years ago these Bozo's tried the same basic scam on me. I had stopped for gas and Gomer comes over clucking his tongue as he gazed at my trailer tires. Claimed they were about to disintegrate with eminent tread separation failure.
I knew he was full of "garbage" and told him to get out of my face {the tires were a set of new Maxxis'}. When he persisted I gave him "one" more opportunity to "just walk away" and happily he took my offer.
Sorry to hear these idiots are still out there. I have stopped a number of times {all over the country try}, to have the pressure checked {as their gauges and compressors are probably better than mine}, but always at a name brand chain. It was always done for free and with a smile and not once has anyone suggested anything more than an additional couple of pounds of air. Stay with the recognized national chains.
