I agree with this completely.
As a general rule, I always oppose any local/state/federal discounts and/or special programs aimed at people based on age, race, gender, ethnicity, etc. It is the opposite of what a free and equitable society should impart. What private entities may offer (or be allowed to offer) is a different story. At the risk of going off-topic, I'll leave it at that.
