Birch Run and Frankenmuth Michigan

Well here we are. We are looking for places of interest. We found the first good place to stop. There is a large RV centre here. Looked at a couple of new units, compared prices to Ontario. We are wondering if there is a farmers market close by. We asked a few people and they had no idea. We got to hotel late so I will check at breakfast with the front desk.

Hotel? We had intended to go camping but the weather was calling for wet/cold at home...for 5 days. We thought what better time then to discover a bit of Michigan. So here we are, for how long? Where we are heading?
If anyone has any must see ideas we will appreciate them, thanks.
  • We camped in Midland last year which is roughly a 35 minute drive north on I75. Midland has a minor league ball team, it was a fun affordable family afternoon.
  • Thanks for the info. We went to Bronners and had lunch at the Bavarian Inn. Bought sherry at St Julian. We also priced a new truck. OMG! Over $25K difference from home. Too bad we can't buy a new truck and take it across the border. We could buy used and take it home but not new. So...we poured for a while then looked at real estate. Again, so much cheaper here. We are shocked. Poured again for a while, then had beer and wine and are feeling a bit better, LOL
We shall have to see what and where tomorrow brings.
  • What do you like? Museums, dining, attractions. There is a lot to see and do in the lower/lower part of Michigan and hoteling it will make it easier to see them.
  • Go North. The part of Michigan you are in is nothing like the northern part of the state.
  • If you want to go to Flint (N. Side) there is Crossroads Village. They have a steam locomotive that takes a train ride through the countryside and a great setup of early area history. Take a tour of St. Lorenz Church. When they needed more room they moved the ends and built a larger middle. They have a great Casavant pipe organ from Quebec.
