Normally in black I use only water and lots of it. Never run or store the rv with less than 5 gals water. I add water as soon as I dump and flush.
I am at a seasonal site this year and go three weeks between black tank dumps. I use one cup of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda and 5 gals water after dumping.
I have never experienced tank odors in the rv. This creates a high PH in the tank that helps offset the low PH caused by Uric acid. Flushing the tank during dumps helps keep bacteria in check.
I do not believe in using overpriced deodorizers marketed for rv tanks.
