And who on earth would want to smell it coming out of the vent?
Using holding tank chemicals not deodorants, prevents any smell from wafting down over your picnic table.:W=Dakota98 "dollar Orange" ?????????

I meant to type Dollar Store!
For just a buck you can buy a quart of generic lemon cleaner.
I find this bottle of liquid cleaner is just right for cleaning any grease off and deodorizing the 'gray' tank preventing odors from stray food stuffs that go down the kitchen sink. - Clay_LExplorerAll we have ever used is water. We full timed for 11 years and had no odors in the motor home.

You should have water in all of your traps and the toilet bowl. The air admittance valves under the sinks must be working properly.
I do use a venturi type vent top that sucks air out of the tanks while moving and if there is any breeze. - sdianel_-acct_cExplorerWe have been full timing for 5 years and have tried everything.
Ditto on Camp Chem for black tank. We buy it at Walmart.
In the gray tank we now use 1 cup borax and 1 cup Dawn Platinum. Both found at most Walmarts.
no odors in either. - Not_a_ClueExplorer

We use the happy camper powders - first thing we've found that actually does get the tank senors clean. Plus I never see any solids going out when we drain and flush.

Use nothing. Not needed. Dump and flush . Simple.. If you are getting an odor problem vent tube may be compromised. We have never used anything.
Same here. Been camping since 1976. Saved big bucks by doing it the same way. - OasisbobExplorerUse nothing. Not needed. Dump and flush . Simple.. If you are getting an odor problem vent tube may be compromised. We have never used anything.
- goducks10ExplorerWe don't use anything and haven't for 2 years. We use the black tank rinse at every opportunity. No smells at all. Our trailer before this had a black tank rinse also but e hardly used it and had more some stinky situations. I'm a firm believer in the rinse cycle.

Answers will vary depending on HOW you RV. Once a month? Every weekend? Snowbird, Full timer, etc. How much you use your coach and in what type of weather you RV in does make a difference on what you will use.
I use Campa-Chem (powerful odor control one NOT the green one)
This product actually breaks down waste and controls odors it is not just perfume. I tried some of the new ones and it added so much perfume to the coach I had to pull off the road and dump and flush it.
This product has been around for eons for marine and RV holding tanks. And walmart carries it. So when you stop for groceries etc you know you can pick up your rv holding tank supplies.
Gray tank gets a quart of a dollar orange cleaner every other dump.
