So true. I moved to Florida as a young man, just after leaving my car stuck in a snowbank, and then walking about 1/2 mile through deep snow to get home, in loafers.
That was when I said: "Enough"
I didn't do quite that, but we used to live on a main road and after I nearly got slammed into trying to get into my driveway I booked my first flight EVER and we went to DisneyWorld. Sounds almost silly now, but I decided I didn't want to die without seeing Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale "in person". :)
Loafers you say?? In the snow?? Ummm, okay, they do make BOOTS up here ya know! :B
I know, I grew up in Mass. Where we have real snow. The Berkshire mountains. Not downstate with those Cape Codders. :):):)
Loafers? Yep, I was coming home from work, was not prepared or expecting to have a walk in the snow. But a pure iced over entrance road changed my mind about a stroll.
Could not walk on the road. Had to walk on the snowbanks (uphill) to have traction.
Ahh........ the good old days. NOT.
