Everyone else is traveling UP that same grade. The reasonable expectation is that trucks, big trailers, etc are going to down shift and slow down on the pull. It's basic physics. It's not like you're jamming on your brakes; it's slow and gradual and expected.
I just returned from a 6000 mile trip all through the Colorado Rockies and New Mexico Sangrias. They have passing lanes on some of the longer assents. Cars and pickups passed but the line of TTs, Fivers, and Semis climbed together in a straight line giving each other lots of room. One MH and One TT stayed with me for about 200 miles.
It's all part of the journey.
