Went through there a few weeks ago. 2008 Yukon Denali with 6.2 gasser, pulling 28 ft TT est at 6500 lbs. Using tow/haul mode and a fair share of cruise control, stayed under the 55 going up and slower going down. Used 3rd frequently. Some grades ran me up to 4500 rpm, most grades at 3200 rpm plus or minus. Tranny ran up to 225, engine temp to 230. Slow and easy and watchful of everyone in front and behind me. It was not a white knuckle experience...just focus and patience.
The 6.2 gasser is a beast. Plan to upgrade to a Sierra or Silverado with newer 6.2 for the longer wheel base and utility...and a anticipated cross country rv trip next year.
