The problem was not with the truck, but with the expectations. People should never assume they can charge up long grades at the same speed as they maintain on the flats. Nor should they want to flog their tow vehicle so mercilessly by trying to maintain so much speed. Slow down consciously and shift down; take it easy on that drive train, because it has to last you a while.
