That is true.
Lucky for me I have a Banks Stinger Plus system, upgraded Riffraff turbo compressor wheel, Ford AIS intake and a 16 position PHP Hydra chip. I'm about 350 hp and 725 ft lbs of tq.
I can bump that up to 390 when not towing.
My gross is just like the op at 15,000 combined and a 10 foot tall TT I can manage almost 70mph up a long 7-8% grade (EGT limited) at altitudes of 7,000 ft.
That's why diesels rock, so easy to modify and unlock the potential.
I would rather get worse mileage for 5-10 miles than be a roadblock.
