A little noodling here. The OP probably could do 40 with his setup. He would be in first gear, doing around 5500 rpm.he would then be producing the up to go 40 assuming my up losses are somewhat correct.
If he were to get a newer rig, with a 6 so auto vs I am assuming the 4 so currently. He would still have the same power issues, but at least he would be shifting from 3rd to 2nd, which is generally a bit less stressful for most folks.
Or he can put a supercharger on current setup, not have elevation loss hp, and pull in the 50 range.
