Since the inflator you're linking to is (presumably) based on an oilless air pump, a filter to remove oil is quite unnecessary.
More generally, I personally don't think it's essential in other cases, though for sure there's no harm in having an air filter on the compressor and they are neither hard to find nor expensive. I would avoid using an air line that is equipped with an automatic lubricator for tools that is designed to squirt a bit of oil into the air.
