Blue Ox

I ordered 2 Blue Ox Patriots but never got them. One for me and one for my Brother. After waiting 9 days I still hadn't gotten an order confirmation so I emailed them and was told that my order was back ordered. I told them it would have been nice to let the customer, me, know that little detail. Even though they back ordered they still charged my credit card. I told them to cancel the order and they did. So far it has been 3 weeks since my order was canceled but after 3 email and 6 telephone calls to a very rude person at Blue Ox I have still not received a refund. So far all I have gotten from Blue Ox is BS and outright lies. They even sent me an email saying that they refunded my money but that was a week ago and it is still not in my account. I would never deal with Blue Ox again their business practices leave a lot to be desired. I guess that the only way I am going to get my money back from them is to take them to court. I would steer clear of this company.

Please share that email address you used to communicate with "Blue Ox." Apparently one cannot buy directly from Blue Ox.

I see you just joined the forum yesterday and that this is your only post although you did post it in two different threads. Help us ID the dealer that's not performing.
I'm betting he is dealing with this outfit: http://www.blue-ox-towbars.com/?gclid=CP6RuqrTmbkCFQee4Aodp3gAgw. That is a dealer who is using Blue Ox's name. Also the one I gave the link to for the BBB report.
  • If you go to www.blueox.com, it will be the original Blue Ox. There's a contact drop down that will allow you to e-mail them directly. They also have an 800 phone number.
blueoxtowbars is the web site that sells the products. aThat's the one everyone, myself included, is having trouble with.

  • Well, I guess the upshot is buy Blue Ox towing equipment from somewhere other than www.blue-ox-towbars.com, as there are at least a score of them.

I got mine somewhere else. All the powder coat has peeled off and is rusting. I replaced it with a ReadyBrute which has a lifetime warranty.
  • The marketing organization you are dealing with is not Blue Ox, the manufacturer, rather it is an online distributor using their name. Don't let that turn you off on the product.

It is quite likely that you never got to the BlueOx website, that your search engine took you to this online vendor, who has a website that looks like what your would expect from the manufacturer. There's a lot of this spoofing going on, everywhere on the Internet.

For towing equipment, I've had great service from etrailer.com. Order acceptance emails immediately, confirmations at each stage of order processing up to shipment (then I am in the hands of UPS or FedEx).

PPL is another reliable vendor of all kinds of stuff RV. But for towing equipment, they might not have just what you need, and if you prefer to buy online etrailer has more warehousing sources, kind of like an Amazon for towing equipment.

For a lot of things like this, I simply go to my local RV dealer. They have at least a dozen different warehousing suppliers, they will check for availability and price, and order for the supplier they've found to be most reliable. That's a piece of information you don't have, using where Internet search engines send you.
