Hard to find good brass. All Lowes etc have iss the Chinese stuff with valves of only a quarter inch or so opening, greatly reducing flow.
There is one or two plumber suppliers around. they may have good American brass or real brass. The Chinese stuff is not true. Additionally they are plating some aluminum stuff with a brass finish and passsing it off as brass. there are no labels telling you otherwise. Pick it up and it really light. they are doing the same with some kinda pot metal or zinc. The brass finish doesn't feel smooth and when you use the connections it is gritty etc. It will develop blisters and pinholes or whatever, inside and out in a little time from hard water or soft and leak. You will probably throw it away before that and buy another one and another one.
