Brass makeovers??

Has anyone refinished their brass shower door and frame? If so, how did you do it? Did you like the results? Any before and after pics? Thank! :)
  • If you mean by painting, don't do it, it will eventually flake off.

I just had all the brass shower stuff replaced with brushed nickel. Had the local glass shop come and measure the existing enclosure and make one in nickel. They assemble on site so that it is custom fitted so you can change some dimensions such as make it taller or shorter and change the way the door swings. You can also add towel bars in different locations
  • We de-brassed our rv. TON of kitchen and bathroom handles, light fixtures, and yes bathroom sinks.
We took our time sanding down, de greasing, and spraying brushed nickel with rustoleum.
The results are amazing!! Been a year and not one chip or flake.
  • If it is solid brass, then 1000 grit until it shines, then jewelers rouge on a rag. you will have to redo it with Brasso or jewelers rouge now and the to keep the shine.
  • When I got rid of the brass/gold fixtures on my 2003 Bounder I called the manufacture of the shower and they were able to supply me a new frame in the color I wanted.
