Bringing teenagers...leave tech at home or no?

I hate to say this but, "The train has already left the station," on this whole technology issue.

You better get on the train with it and your GF or get left behind.
Case in point: my wife is a teacher, many, many of her 2nd graders have their own cell phones.

Not saying I like it or agree with it, but it is just the way it is.

We have smart phones, but we have zero televisions in our trailer. We read, ride bikes, walk and talk to each other.
