I try to talk to my kids about disconnecting, created it as a challenge for them. But we camp at different places for different reasons. Sometimes we take along the xbox or wii and let them chill inside and do their thing. Not everybody has to enjoy the same thing, at least they are doing something together.
When it comes to phones, as long as they are interacting and don't have their head constantly facing the phone I don't fight it. One night when I decided to pick the fight my youngest got very upset. Turned out he'd been looking up various bits about the lake we were at, and reading about wild life. My bad.
We also tend to camp where we don't have hookup's or wifi, since I control the power it really limits how much time they are on their phone, batteries don't last forever ;)
My only parting though is to make memories not to pick fights. Happy Camping!
