We haul a TC, but this is appropriate for all RV owners, probably.Just recently returned from an extended trip cross-country, and it's tough to keep the bugs off when traveling - and tough finding a place to wash it too.When we washed the TC yesterday, I discovered I had no 'bug remover' left, a product that has some success dissolving 'bug-guts' along with some scrubbing. On a whim, I grabbed the cleaning solution we use on the counters - just to see if it at least helped until I could get more of the bug cleaner. The green spray bottle product is Chlorox w Bleach and the label says Limpiador and Cholo ... about $5.00 at the market instead of $9.50 bug-cleaner at the RV place. and it cleaned everything off in a hot second ... spotless with virtually no scrubbing ... just used a sponge and paper towel, and then sprayed with the hose. SO, anyone with bugs, try it - (Nope, don't own stock, or sell it) :) :)Hope this doesn't sound like a commercial ...

Thanks, always looking for an "easier" way to do things. But ... sometimes the commercials are more entertaining than the show!

I wonder if it works to keep mosquitoes off you, too.

one thing someone who is wax happy is going to want to know, does it take the wax off when you use it, let them know what happened.

Wax happy people will just wax it again - but the bugs will be gone. We don't wax ours, never have in eleven years of owning two TC's.

There's a reason it worked so well. Bleach is pretty nasty strong stuff. I don't think I want to spray bleach on the front of my camper for any reason. Even diluted bleach. I'll bet there are all kinds of warnings on the back of that bottle, especially as regards painted surfaces or plastic.Would you spray bleach on your car or truck ?

Lots of comments on here - different products, some do damage, some not.

I was just trying to tell you all about one that works well. When we used it, the TC shined like new, so I don't think it did any damage. And, I'd be more careful than that.

So, it's a good product, works easily and the bugs vanish. Doesn't appear to do anything to the TC sidewalls, in fact makes them look like brand new. Just sayin' M44

Chlorox cleaner w/ bleach. I believe the 'bleach' part is a very slight mix in it -

Better read the label of that spray 9. Nasty stuff especially if it gets on materials it does not like.

rejex is good. I used to use spry 9 and that melted the bugs but took the wax off too. SO Rejex is great

What is the active ingredient in rejex? Does it strip wax. Of course if you don't care about preserving the gelcoat go at it & use anything that removes the bugs.

Sooner or later you will want to sell that trailer & a gelcoat in good condition will get the attention of a buyer much better than a chalky one.

My expierence... Rejex is a poylmer developed for use on aircraft.. remove wax and put it on paint,clear coat, gelcoat.. use a soft bristle brush and a bucket of plain water at the end of the day.. bugs come right off.

That is one BIG ASSUMPTION since hand sanitizer is generally an alcohol based product not compatible with many waxes. What I have found that is great for on the road and even at home and doesn't require a hose or rinsing and is wax friendly is the Turtle "Rinse Free - WASH and WAX". This gets around the CG "NO RV WASHING" restrictions and just requires a couple of old bath towels to dry the areas cleaned. Using this with a nylon covered sponge does a great job on dried on bugs with minimal scrubbing. I also like to use a good high quality Polymer based synthetic wax on the front to make periodic cleaning easier.

yes, a good long rainstorm will wash it off along with the bugs. Then I just re apply.

A light mist or morning dew doesn't seem to do much unless you get it many days in a row.

soapy water takes it off pretty quick along with the bugs.

but it is easy to re apply. My son loves it for his motorcycle. keeps the bugs off his faring, windshield and helmet shield.

ktmrfs - I just went to their site and this looks like something I'd be interested in trying. The instructions state that it's water soluble. Does it wash off in rain ?

I use griots garage spray on bug shield BEFORE we leave. doesn't remove wax, and a quick spray with the hose when we get home and the bugs just slide off.

do the same on the TV grill, works fantastic.
