I need a little help. I built a wooden step to assist with getting in and out of our camper. I want to put a welcome type mat on it. I want to fasten the mat down so it won't slid but I also want to be able to remove mat for storage and cleaning. I have not be able to think of a fastener that I can use short of nut/bolts etc. I would like some type of quick disconnect. I don't want to use any type of anti-slip mat under the door mat. The step is out side. My step is 24'x36'. I am sure there is something out there but I have not found it.Thanks for any suggestions.Russ

How about button snaps? Just a thought.

Get yourself some tarp grommets.Put them on each corner.Small bungees attach them to the side or crisscross under neithOr just use carpet tacks on the corners.very easy to remove.

If you reconsider the anti slip material use some spray adhesive to keep it in place on the mat or the step. Some string may do the trick if the mat is thick and will hide most of it. Just cut it, tie new string to the cut end and pull another length in place when cleaning.

Screw down each corner with a sheet metal screw and a fender washer. Only takes a few seconds to remove it. Then that baby won't go anywhere and nobody will slip or trip on it..

Glue or screw the welcome mat to the steps and just hose it off when you think it needs it.

We have our welcome mat at the bottom of the steps. This way you can wipe your feel before starting up the steps. Helps keep the steps cleaner.

If U go the Velcro route definitely use the industrial strength stuff. There is an RV supply house in AZ that has really good stuff. I can't think of their name right now maybe someone can supply it.

When I built the step I made it the size of the mat and extended the sides and ends a bit higher. That way the lip kept the mat from sliding. Just had to lift it out and give it a shake.

I see others have mentioned Velcro, If you go that way This Stuff works great in doors and out. I have had great luck with it.
