You may as well have posted "15 minutes can save you 15 percent with Geico". Everyone knows that....
People showing how they deter (read deter) theft helps other people which is what this forum is about. No one needs to be told how dumb of an idea it is to do so since its so obviously easy to break into an RV. Maybe next you will tell me that my tongue lock is useless and that I should just offer up my stuff like a lamb tied to a stake in the middle of a tiger preserve.
No one, repeat no one, has stated that the ideas are dumb. They're not dumb,at best they are relatively futile. If you think they will do some good then by all means put them on, but I don't believe they will stop a semi-determined thief. Maybe you'll get lucky and only the lazy ones will visit. :)
Isn't that the purpose of nearly all theft prevention modifications and devices? To hopefully prompt the thief to move on to easier pickings, leaving your stuff alone?
Yes - it is.
Sorry, but this is just a pet peve of mine concerning this topic. When a member posts about security precautions, locks or whatever, out of the woodwork comes people who have to say how useless these measures are against theft. If I were the guy with bars on my skylights and someone said it was about as useless as a lock on a paper bag, I would take it as being called an idiot. Who else but an idiot would lock up a paper bag? Telling a person that his mods are useless or futile is insulting. If you think so fine, but keep it to yourself.
