For 32 years of my working life I was an insurance auctioneer selling 250 to 800 claims per day across 4 states . Fifty or sixty insurance companies , but I contracted with what are known as insurance salvage companies . The vast majority of RV claims , probably 95 percent were TT roll-overs , to much trailer for to little tow vehicle . Next in line for all types of RVs would be trees or limbs thru the roof . Then fires mostly refrigerator causes . Of course in tough times we would get claims were the payment book caused a fire by rubbing up against the insurance policy . As I remember , I do not believe that I ever saw a 5th wheel rollover .
In resent years most of these independent auctioneer jobs have been lost to the internet ! Insurance companies still "pool " there claims but thgey are sold on the internet . I have sold for Manheim , Sadisco, IAA , ISS an many more pools that no one has heard off . Manheim has over 2800 yards/auctions but very few have heard of them .
