C-Pap

if yours is removable ,remove the humidity unit and it will use less power also.
I bought an adapter from the place i get c-pap supplies from to use 12 volts.Mine i can use for days without charging house batteries

Where are the 12 volt plug ins in the 5th? I don't remember seeing any... The humidifier is detachable. It is a Respironics unit. We won't have a generator or inverter. I thought there was a 12 volt recharger that you could use in your truck that would recharge the unit, but I don't see any, I'm just seeing expensive battery packs. Thanks for the ideas so far!

Wherever you put one. Most RVs have a single 12v receptacle at the television. I added more inside and outside.

You could always buy one of those jump start battery packs that are sold just about anywhere. The jump starter would be much less expensive than the battery pack the Cpap manufacturer will sell you.

You might try looking into a mouth guard type appliance instead of a c-pap for camping. I have a Meyerson EMA which advances my lower jaw some and stops my sleep apnea. They are a little spendy and some insurance doesn't like to pay for them (mine was fine). You may have to do your own legwork to find someone that sells them as the sleep doctors generally don't. They make their money off of the c-paps. I had to go to a dentist.

The actual cpap doesn't use that much electricity. The heated humidifier is a different matter. Whenever we are dry camping, we turn the humidifiers off but leave it attached so it just works in pass over mode. We bought 12v cords for our machines and I installed 12v outlets on each side of the bed. We never even bring the 110v cords, even if we are camping where there is electric available.

If you run the C-Pap off the house batteries, and the house batteries have to be fully charged to pull in the slides (for our unit), how do you recharge the house batteries? Do you have to carry a separate battery charger? It seems like the simplest deal is to have another 12v plug installed. I don't know if the Respironics is 12v or 24.

Needing fully charged batteries for the slides means that if you put them out you must have shore power, gen, solar or perhaps alternator to bring them in - something is not right or very poor rig design.

How does another 12V plug help as it still uses battery power?

Our Activox is 19V which is irrelevant since it has 12V and 120V adapters. I doubt any unit requires a 24V power source since that is very rare.

When I am boon docking I always put the TV close enough to connect the 7 way then start the TV engine before I pull in my slides. I like full voltage for the slides. Much less strain on the slide motors.
