As a new owner of a 40+ motorhome, I'm required to obtain a Class B non-commercial drivers license. I've taken the written test, had the eye exam, had the medical exam (with certificate in hand) and was provided with a temporary (learner's permit) and now I'm ready to take the driving test. Since our town's DMV does not provide this service, I'm forced to go to the Bishop DMV office to take the test. The temporary license requires me to have a licensed driver with me who does have a current Class B (or Class A) license.....
I read your post and I thought you were mistaken about what you needed to do to get a non-commercial in CA, so I went to the CA DMV website and I couldn't believe it. A health certificate that expires every 2 years??? C'MON MAN. That's crazy. LOL. And I thought the rules in Maryland were crazy.
Someone suggested that you ask the dealership for an escort. With what you paid for your rig, they should. Or if you got it from a private owner, he should be a sport and invest a couple of hours helping you ought.Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new toy.
