I got my class A non commercial, because about 5 years ago i owned a 32' travel trailer that weighed over 10,000 pounds. The first time i went to the DMV office, a ways away also, i brought my father in law to pretend to be my Class A driver, however, they scheduled me for the wrong appointment and told me i had to come back. The second time i went back i was just going to tell them that my ride went for a walk to get lunch, however, they never asked. The driving test was not bad, i had to park it, call out overpass heights as you are driving and just drive with caution. However, the tough part is the walk around vehicle inspection. I missed telling them i would check the axel for leaks, well counting my car and trailer, i had 8 tires with the axel through it and that dinged me 8 points of the possible 10 you can miss. If you have to do a walk around for the class B non Commercial, make sure to practice this walk around in the order you would memorize all of it. Don't forget horn, wipers, emergency triangle, fire extinguisher, tire tread, sidewalls, axel leaks, plus all the mechanical checks of the vehicle.
