Today in California there are clear skies and temperatures in the high 60's and 70's. This is not unusual in the winter months but I seldom see RVer's taking advantage of travel in the state at this time of the year.
There is less traffic in general and fewer crowds at tourist areas and cheaper rates in some cases as well. Also less need for reservations and that makes for a more open travel schedule.
A lot of RVers made that 3K drive, "wildtoad"!!
They're here in So.CA - for the BCS game!
Temps in high 70's today (Jan 6) and tomorrow.
Then "drops" to high 60's - and back up to the mid 70's for the weekend.
Can't speak for No. CA - but traffic is just about the same year-round.
Actually a bit better in *summer* - kids not in school.
All-year camping is what most of CA is all about.
Of course, if you like snow - there's "world class" skiing in CA.
In So. CA - you surf in the AM and head for the slopes (2 hrs away) in time for afternoon lift tickets.
Back to 70+ temps by evening...:C
