You have to make your own call. I have a brass Camco regulator and have no worries. I can't imagine the amount of lead in the device, much less how much is picked up as water flows through it is harmful.
Many people only use the city water hookups for showering and washing dishes, but use bottled water for drinking.
And I always ignore the special California warning labels.
