camco winterizing kit

The instructions say to remove the hose when finished, and install cap. Will it leak if hose is left on and cap not installed.
  • Mine does not leak with the cap off and besides it is on the suction side of the pump so normal leakage would be to draw air into the system rather than water leaking out. I still put the cap on when not using it to winterize as I am always afraid the handle might move or be bumped into the bypass position. I think it is just a nice safety option.
  • I always let mine drain. Mine didn't come with a cap so yours may be different than the one I had. I never had a leakage but why would you not want to replace the cap?
