Oh the pain! with this new TT I am having fits trying to find a way to install a anti freeze kit to my water pump. I have a 09 31dlr cougar mountaineer and the pump is located under the small kitchen utility drawers. Last week I installed an accumulator and shoved it towards the back between the pump and the wall. the drawer latches tore my arm up and bleed like a pig. excuse my french on that one. now I am thinking how in the world am I going to install a valve to winterize this thing. I am running out of room down there. I don't want to pour the anti freeze into the FW tank and if I pump the stuff into the city water inlet it won't winterize the pump, what would you do?

Why don't you just use the Air out method.

my Ascend had a similarly mounted water pump, under a kitchen drawer. I had no room to mount it before the pump so I mounted it after the pump and used a boat 12 volt bilge pump to pump the antifreeze through the system. since removing/replacing that drawer is sort of a nuisance, I might just pump the AF in through the city water fill this fall.bumpy

You can also buy a hand pump. It works pretty fast and is easy to use.

The valve can be anywhere between the tank and the pump. There's got to be a spot where there's room to install it, even if its right beside the tank itself.

You will still need to install a "T" in your system, and those "Sharkbite" fittings from HD work pretty sweet. You don't have to stand on your head to do the install....just cut the tubing, slide the fitting on and run a suction tube with a valve.Oh, and be careful next time....you don't want the RV to look like a crime-scene:)

you obviously haven't seen that area in my TT have you. believe me that was my first desire to hook it up correctly.

The problem with pumping antifreeze through the city connection is that it doesn't flow through the water pump.

I had that concern myself. but I can run the pump dry they add antifreeze from the back side.

The problem with pumping antifreeze through the city connection is that it doesn't flow through the water pump.

Go get a second pump and pump it through your city water hook up outside.I always carry the spare pump so it really isn't wasted money.still do the hot water by pass of course.

If you have a pump and accumulator you have to have enough to install a 3 way valve and a couple foot piece of hose. My 320 had hose so it was easy if you have pex it may be a little harder.I bought the crimper(one Hander click type) and some collars. Although I don't carry it it has come in handy.
