This year was my first camp host position. All in all it was OK. Had some pain in the butts which thought they owned the place. Made some friends that I hope will stay in touch me and I with them. We had quit a few long termers. Most of our people call and make reservations, so I kind of know when there coming in so I can greet them. Some just drive in off the road at the end of the day look for a place to spend the night.
My job consisted of being there 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. cutting grass, taking the trash to the trash container, spray weeds. And just keep the place looking great, which I did. I enjoyed so well, I returning next year so I can hock up with the friends I've made.
Now if you think being a Camp Host is a great job, you need to give it a try and make up your own mind. So give the "Host" a break, it was the end of season. And he didn't know you where coming in.
