Many places do not allow outside wood due to the spread of pests. We find that a bundle of kiln dried wood purchased at one of the big box home supply centers is much better wood. The pieces are bigger and transportable because of kiln drying. We rarely buy wood in state parks anymore and it seems COE campgrounds do not sell wood.
