Campground Directory Advice

I can't comment on Woodalls but I have found Good Sam or Trailer Life to be worse than useless. For instance I have many times seen them list sites as 50' by 20' and find my 29 foot trailer and short base pickup barley fit and my awning almost covers the next site hookups. I recently stopped, didn't stay, at one they listed as 50 amp. The 30 amp plug blew my surge protector off the line and the 50 amp plug only had 90 volts. My safest bet is always rvparkreviews.com however even it is quite subjective.

I highly recommend you use www.rvparkreviews.com. By reading reviews from different people, you get a pretty good idea of what the campground is like and whether you would like to stay there. I post reviews as a travel so I can pass on what I have experienced to others. You will find some outlier reviews but you will get a lot of good information. So far, I have not been steered wrong.

Don't think there is a new Next Exit! Al least I could not find one. Have the different apps but always prefer the paper. Woodalls is just so-so.

We also use RV park reviews The wife has put us in some campgrounds way out in the boonies. She also uses Passport America.

Another good app is Mobile RVing

Apps are the way to go.

"Allstays Camp and RV" which has loads of other info, stores, truck stops, low clearance
"RA Camping" which is Reserve America for most state, federal, and some private campgrounds
"Passport America"

We get the most current advice from Yelp.com for campgrounds and it is easy to do a lookup for an area. Problem with Woodalls is that the listing is by town and in the western USA this makes it worthless. Want to find campgrounds around Yosemite or some other attraction and you need to know what towns are in the area and they if the one town starts with an "A" and another with a "H" and another with a "V" you need to bounce around the directory to find the information. It would not be possible to do a worse job of organizing a directory than has been done by Woodalls. I bought one and after one trip the directory went into the recycle bin.

Also the same question as to Next Exit. We have a 2011 edition. Are there enough changes to warrant squandering $13 on a 2014?
