One comment on the cell phone signal boosters.. There are 3 types.
One is a piece of patterened metal that goes inside the cell phone... Junk
Another (Wilson) is an external antenna with some kind of coupling device to connect to your phone, It contains NO active electronics, these work fairly well.
The third (Also Wilson) is an active device, it may connect as above or it may use an "inside antenna" to re-broadcast.. This is called a 2-way repeater. It is, as I said an active device. It is the best at extending range.
I recently read of either a decision or a pending decision about these on an FCC monitoring site.. Seems they are trying to limit/eliminate sales of these devices. My opinion of that FCC action I will not type.
