CAMPGROUND PIGS
I've been visiting a lot of National Parks lately and have been astonished at how people trash the facilities, Specifically, the camp sink and restrooms. Camp sinks routinely have food scraps in them...
Tom/Barb wrote:exactly why we stick to forest service sites.they're user maintained, table, fire ring, and outhouses.no garbage cans,no reycling boxes.every week or so a fs worker will put a couple rolls in the house,or a camper will donate a roll.i can guarantee that these sites are cleaner than any park or private campground.there's no "quiet time" but still campers will respect each others time/space, even the atv'ers to an extent. and i've never had anything walk away from my camp either.thank god there's nothing of interest to the twentysomethings at these sites, unless they fish, and fishermen are an altogether different breed of camper.
Now you know why we boondock.
I refuse pay for camping when we bring every thing we need. and there are a million square miles of natural beauty to park in.
I love the west.
