Reading about the kids being litterbugs reminds me of an experience from years ago. My family is in the car going somewhere and we decided to stop at a Whataburger for drinks. After being served I pull back onto the roadway with my drink between my legs. I unwrap my straw while driving and stab the straw into the cup lid a little too hard and poked a hole through the bottom of the Styrofoam cup. My first reaction was roll down the window and throw that cup out as fast as I could.
My kids came unglued. They were sincerely upset that I did that and that I intended on leaving it there. They made me turn around and pick that cup up off the roadway.
