As touched on by others, the pressures, of an ever more crowding society or ant colony bring out the worse, in people, it seems.
Around here there is a very large Wal Mart parking lot. Never see trash in it but lots of semis and many RVs during season.
Go to bigger population centers and see how bad it is.
Wal Mart has a good cleaning company that keeps it spotless, swept at night.
