We travel with our RV 12 months each year, both for business and pleasure, as we have for about 55 years. On the average we spend 3 to 6 or 8 nights on almost all of our trips each month.
So far this year, January through July, we have stayed 44 nights on the road with our Monty. From my memory we parked 6 nights in free locations, that includes 4 business locations, one truck stop, and one at a relative's home. All of the others were in commercial campgrounds is 5 states.
Since we have traveled so many years with our RV's we are quite familiar with the location of camping locations and often use the same ones year after year. We have been life members of Passport America and Good Sam clubs for many years.
We try to stay in a Passport America or Good Sam campgrounds when possible and enjoy the discount rates.
Looking back over this year so far, I believe our camping rate has averaged about $12 to $13 per night totaling all 44 nights. I have not noticed any increase in our average per night costs over the past few years so I would have say that we average not over $15 per night per year, probably less.
