As far as kids crossing camps of others goes, if nobody tells them that they shouldn't, how are they going to learn? Their parents obviously don't tell them.
Yep.
But... when we first went to a campground (before my camping had been out in the woods and while hiking), I simply didn't know all the "campground etiquette", both written and unwritten. Our first campground trips were with another family who had been campground camping for years, so the father told me all the etiquette - including "don't ask to use the toilet in another person's camper!". Wife and I early on taught our kids to be respectful in a campground (it is not easy to teach the "no cutting through other campsites" rule, but it can be done!) - you have to start at the beginning, and keep to what you say. Kids can and will learn, if someone takes the time to teach them.
A lot of people who are first timers to campground camping simply don't know the dos and don'ts - especially related to a situation involving constant use of a small area. Some dog owners (way too many) just don't realize that sure, their one dog's poop is not such a big deal - but it isn't just their dog, it is all the dogs poops combined, before and after, that causes the problem.
Same with cutting through another person's campsite... sure, if it was just one person one time, no big deal - but when it is a stream of people, now it is a problem.
Just try to politely remind people about... well, being polite. I don't know what else you can really do.
