Well everyone as you can tell by by profile, I seldom post topics, however, I appreciate all the knowledge I have gained from many of you so before I rant, let me start out by saying thank you.This weekend we were at Ventura Beach RV Resort in Ventura, CA. The park was full. I cannot understand for the life of me why people cannot pick up after their animals when they do their business, and why they let them run free off their leash. We were preparing the RV to leave the park and a lady was walking here two dogs and let them take a poop right behind our space and did not pick it up. On another note, why do people continue to walk through others spaces?People need to learn to be more considerate of others.Thanks for listening.

I would not hesitate to ask the person to pick up after their dog. Done it several time. I am a little more forgiving about walking thru my site. With the layout of some CG's, it's just hard to get from here to there without takeing the long way around.

We have two dogs. We do cleanup after them. We have a container that we keep all our plastic shopping bags in. We use them to cleanup after the dogs. I have been known to chase a fellow dog owner down to give them a bag because they have obviously forgotten theirs. It is amazing how many people do not cleanup after their pets. Rant on!!!!

As I tell my kids often, with all the atrocities in the world I wouldn't worry too much about this.

1. It's the 'all about me' attitude. 2. The rules are for other people.3. And, you can's fix rude/stupid.These three simple rules may help you understand why some people do what they do.....

When I see the people walk away from the poop, I ask them if they need a bag, then I give them one and watch them pick up. I would offer a plastic bag, so what if they get mad. If they still refused to clean it up I would talk to campground staff. If none of that worked I would walk my 3 Collies on their site.:B

When I was new to camping, I didn't know about any of these rules, but since my parents instilled common sense into me growing up, and by following their example, I didn't need to read the rules - I already know what to do/not do. And the fact that there were much more vile tinngs going on in the world at the time didn't make a difference - my father would never trivalize the importance of stuff like this, nor would I. Some kids are lucky - others not so much. These are the ones trampling through your site and not picking up after their dogs, throwing cigarette butts out of the window - the list goes on.

As a dog owner, it upsets me that people with pets don't follow these rules. The problem is as more people run into these issues,more campgrounds will ban animals which hurts the responsible pet owner. I do offer a bag to offenders, whether they like it or not. Just follow the rules, courtesy costs nothing.

I have some current neighbors that have 4 young boys, maybe ages two to ten, and the kids run around like kids do. Unfortunately, they found my fiberglass canoe that I keep upside so it does no fill with rain water, as a nice jungle gym to climb all over. This put cracks in it a ruined it. Now a worthless canoe.

Trying to think of a nice way to bring it up to the neighbors for reimbursement.

Any way, control your kids.

See me at 5 a.m. in my pj's picking up poop from a 48 lb dog who couldn't wait for us to get up. Oh and he selected the campground next door to poop in. :S

if you see people not pick up, say something. only way to handle it is call the people out :)

also on cutting thru sites. IF it bothers you, block the path they are using. if they still do it, call them on it. I do and when I mention it, the people don't do it again.

sometimes ya gotta open your mouth a bit instead of just stew about things :)

If I see somebody let their dog poop on or near my site and not pick it up, I pick it up for them. I also find out where they are staying so I can deliver it to their doorstep. I keep my bag.

Picking up after Fido... One campground I frequent has now established a policy.. WE will pick up after your Fido... For a small fee of around 25 dollars a pick. (OUCH)

As to both issues.. You have perhaps heard of something called "Common Courtesy"

Well.. years ago.. Back in the days of of the fictional Matt Dillion (TV/Radio Show Gunsmoke, The radio show starred William Conrad). Well everybody was packing and those who offended... Often ceased to offend, Thus courtesy was common..

But alas, those days are gone, and thus, Common Courtesy, is now rather uncommon.. That said, I've been known to hold a door for someone entering or leaving a building or room or stairwell behind me..

Had a "Fido calling card" left on our site this week. I was stewing about it, yet glad I hadn't stepped in it, as I am often in bare feet in the grass.

I opened the rv garage hatch, grabbed the kid-sized shovel I keep hanging there, and tossed it into the weeds.

DW saw neighbors put their heads down and look away. Later we saw they had a young child who walks the dog.

Either way, we didn't have a repeat. Although it irked me, it didn't kill me. We decided to go ahead and have fun and leave the grumpiness in the weeds with the other crap.

I do understand why places have pet free sites/areas.

And We have two big labs So I have extra on hand at all times! My wife gets upset when I follow people to find their camp site to return their deposits later that night with intrest!!
