Some fellow campers in a CG may not give a fig about anyone else around them but some CG owners/management don't give a fig about enforcing their own rules.
We payed thousands of $$ to join an "RV resort" (resort? haha) campground network in WA. They, like most CGs, have a requirement for dogs to be on a leash. Our dog got attacked by an off-leash bulldog which we of course reported. And about that time, a coworker of DW got chomped in his family jewels by an off-leash bulldog and had to go to the hospital to get stitches and cops went after the dog owners and they high-tailed it back to Canada and escaped. Did the CG make any changes? Nope. Due to this and many other issues, we sold our membership and now go to a Thousand Trails nearby where they strictly enforce the rules and the RV-ers that go there are waay more respectful of others. Haven't seen a single dog not on a leash. Noise? Other unacceptable behaviors? Never, ever. Nice!
Some of the worst neighbors in a CG we've seen have been CGs that have rental cabins and sometimes the occupants are non-RV types that just wanna party the night and day away. Once had a chain smoker in a site next to us who had smokers hack. From early am to late pm, she sat outside, hack, hack, hack - louder than a jackhammer... Made the weekend totally miserable.
Often, there's zero possibility of moving to another site during the high season to escape bad neighbors. When pulling into a CG and driving around around, scoping out potential neighbors is part of the routine.
